Bushu Iron Tsuba

Dimensions: 71.5 mm x 70 mm
Thickness: 4 mm

This is an Edo period Bushu school tsuba. This features a design of the "three friends of winter". There are bamboo, plum and pine. These are known for their resilience on the winter and are a symbol of perseverance. It has nice takabori work combined with sukashi elements and deep black patina. The plum leaves are modeled on to the mimi and attention to detail is shown throughout its workmanship. Old shakudo plugs for the ryohitsu are present. A nice example in good condition. It comes with the storage box shown.
