A Rare Multi Maker Tsuba

Diameter: 8.2 cm x 7.6 cm
Thickness: 5 mm

A rare example of a multi-maker tsuba. Signed by three makers. This has a well worked iron plate which is shaped so that the thickness becomes wider at the mimi. The decoration features a nicely detailed cooper octopus by Kazumasa, iron takabori with gold nunome dragon by Masahisa, cooper and gold nunome mushrooms by Masatsugu and iron takabori ken with gold nunome by Masahisa on the ura. We think this may be a Ito school tsuba based on the combination of signatures that are present. A nice tsuba and a delight to study.
