A very large Edo period iron tsuba. This guard features a wonderfully executed shibuichi water dragon with gold details. Please see the closeup of the dragon below. Stamp pattern is present on the web. The turned over edges give this work a unique appeal. Probably Akita Shoami. A nice tsuba with fine detail work.
