A fine Higo Shimizu Jingo tsuba. This has a NBTHK paper attributing it specifically to the third generation Jinjo master. This is a strong work in the theme of carp. As with all early Jigno, the work has a very "masculine" personality. The style of taka-bori and the layout of the design are in the classic Jingo style.. The iron has the soft and dense feel to it that is so much of the enjoyment of good iron Higo. A fair amount of gold nunome remains as well as gold inlay work. This comes with its NBTHK Hozon paper and a custom fitted kiri box. A great example of the Jingo tradtion.
