A fine pair of Ko Goto menuki from the Muromachi or Momoyama period. This set is in the theme of bull or oxen. Shakudo base with details in gold and silver. The patina of the shakudo shows the deep blue-black "raven" color of Ko-Goto. The fine line carving of the tails and hooves are wonderfully done. There is delightful "movement" in the composition and these are in nice condition. Accompanied by a NBTHK Hozon paper and a custom fitted box.
