Ko-Kinko Tsuba

Diameter: 5.8 cm x 4.1 cm
Thickness: 5 mm

A nice example of Ko-kinko workmanship. This tsuba has a solid shakudo plate and features vertical nanako. Vertical nanako is often seen in old tosogu and is an important kantei point for Ko-kinko. This tsuba is thick for its size. It has heavy / dense feeling in ones hand. The plum blossoms are done in gold nunmoe and nicely contrasted by the dark shakudo patina. The kozuka ana is original as one can see from the position of the plum blossoms. A nice old tsuba in good condition. Circa 1600.
