This is an Edo period large menuki set in the theme of ebi (spiny lobsters). Ebi are a symbols of longevity and good fortune. Also they are a staple of New Year's decorations. This set has a suaka ji with katachi bori and shakudo eyes. These are in good condition and show a lot of tagane work overall. Ideal for study/shinsa or completing a koshirae in the ebi theme.
