Nara Menuki

This is a Nara school menuki of dragons. These are suaka and done in takabori with nice details. One pair of dragons has gold eyes and the other duo has shakudo eyes. Please note the care with which the roots were made on the backs. They are carefully shaped and slightly rounded on the sides. A small detail that reflects the skill of the maker. This set dates to the mid-edo period. A charming pair of dragon menuki in a good state of preservation.
