A fine example of Mino-Goto workmanship. This is a shakudo nanako moku-gata tsuba. Circa late 1700's The motif consists of praying mantis, crickets and autumn flowers. Ample gold highlights that look to be sheet gold and gilt are present. There are copper and silver inlays as well. This tsuba makes a strong visual impact. The heavy contrast of the shakudo against the gold, silver and copper elements is very striking. High-end kinko works are not often available in the western market. This is a wonderful opportunity for the serious collector.
