Myochin
Iron Tsuba
Late Edo Period

Dimensions: 91mm x 86mm
Thickness: 5mm

This is a late Edo period Myochin school tsuba in the shape of a kabuto. This tsuba is 91 mm tall and has bold lines, making it an imposing work with a strong personality. The taka-bori plates are exactly cut and the careful inlay of carved kabuto fixtures is quite impressive. The tri-beveled mimi also displays great skill. A fine work in all regards.
