Nara Kozuka

A very nice Nara School kozuka in the Tsuru-Kame celebration design. The crane and tortoise are symbols of long life. Such an item would often be given as a wish or celebration of prosperity and health. This shows wonderfull wormanship and fine detail. Dates to the mid 1800s. It is in good condition and comes with a Japanese make kiri wood box. This is a fine example and it is attractively priced.
