A large maru-gata iron sukashi tsuba. The theme of this tsuba is ginger and geese. This looks to be Owari or possibly Kyo sukashi work from the early Edo period. This is maru mimi with tekkotsu. The tekkotsu is both the granular and fine line variety. The use of geese to form the ryo-hitsu is a delightful design element. A large katana-size tsuba ideal for study or use on a koshirae.
