A early Muromachi period tosho tsuba. The plate shows a great deal of age and is of good quality iron. Please note the size of this guard and its 2.5 mm thickness. Sukashi of snow flakes are original to the Muromachi period with ryo-hitsu that were added later. There is a old shakudo fukurin intact with a deep black patina. There is a damaged area at the top of the kozuka-ana. This is a great old guard and a very affordable price.
