An outstanding fuchi kashira by Ishiguro Masatatsu. He was the son of Ishiguro Masakatsu whom was a student of the first-generation Ishiguro Masatsune. Masatatsu was active circa 1840 and is a highly regarded craftsman. Ranked at the Koshu 巧手 level by Wakayama. He worked in Shimosa province and was also a student of Yokoya Hidekiyo. This work is fully signed "Seiseisai Masatatsu (kao)". The theme of this fuchi kashira is a pheasant in a garden. The takabori and suemon zogan have amazing detail. A delightful design and executed with great skill. This has a custom fitted box and comes with an NBTHK Tokubestu Hozon paper.
