About this sword :   A large Mino school tanto by Kanetsuna. This blade is a consignment that had came from an estate to its current owner. There are notes from the estate that it has an NBTHK Hozon paper but the paper was lost by the estae. The workmanship of the blade is fully consistent with Mino work from late Muromachi-Momoyama times. Specifically, the nakago patina, style of the mei, Niji mei, shirake utsuri, nioi-deki, togari boshi and sugata of the blade are all Sue Mino traits. There is a hint of a yakidashi and this is a shinto kantei point. A fun study blade and an honest work. It is in old polish as shown in the photos. This blade is priced as mumei by the consignee. This reflects that the papers have been lost and it is not offered with any guarantee.
