About this sword :   An Osaka shinto katana by Harima no Kami Tachibana Yoshinari. This smith was active around Joo (1652-1655). He was from Uda but moved to Osaka to study under the Shodai Yamato no Kami Yoshimichi. This blade shows clear Osaka shinto traits with its sugu yakidashi and ko-nie deki gunome midare hamon. One can also see traits in the hada reminiscent of his Ura Nihon roots. The nakago is maru mune. The blade has an air of an older time, adding to its charm. There is a minor ware under the habaki area on the omote and some masaware in the shinoji-ji / mune. These are not a problem for the blade, but we like to mention them. Yoshinari is a well-regarded mid-rank smith. He is 2.5 million yen in the Toko Taikan and ranked as Wazamono for the cutting ability of his blades. This blade was consigned without a paper and it is priced accordingly. It comes with a silver habaki, shira-saya and a storage bag.
